Suggestions

A link to the current theme for 08clean is at the end of the post, it shows you all of the classes you have available to you to modify. If you can't figure out what the classes do (you can view source and search for them to try and get an idea) then just make a mockup with the colours you want and list the fonts, font sizes and colours you will be using. Pretty much everything on the page can be customised.
There will be a prize with a minimum $20 value to the winner.
Post your submissions in this thread, email anything that you can't post to: "site-help @ malegeneral.com" with the subject "Theme Contest".

Keeping in mind that I have not clear at all the chan system structure and programming, I missed your reference to a voting system already planned.
I thought that the sage option was neutral, in any case it is vanished by a simple bump: some time ago an idiot made a mess in another board, just bumping last threads with his spam.
A thumbs up/down system should primarily avoid this, all the rest are details and I think/hope the main design is already defined.
hover your mouse over the text it works but why? is this the supposed way to work? how do you get that dotted box? Where are these posting hints documented?

Current number of lines is not a problem, more will be added if necessary.
It would be nice to have more than 39 characters per line, some boards have 50.
A larger posting box would also allow for more advertising/banner space in current design.

yeah, lack of opera support killed it for me too. the concept was interesting tho. also still lacks critical mass - so many sites I visited (using Firefox) had no weblin users to be seen, and only once did someone flirt with me (some Chinese chick on the BBC news site). Get rid of the interstitial ad links on the sub-boards (df32423.qvvo.com etc). They are annoying as hell. The pennies they may earn you aren't worth the aggravation to users.
