Can you all help me know what is the reason behind sporophytes of mosses having an elaborate mechanism of spore dispersal? I thought that the reason could be "the sporophytes of mosses is much more elaborate and differentiated than that of liverworts", unfortunately that is not the correct reason. Then there is one possible reason i could think of is that "elaborate spore dispersal mechanism ensures continuation of lineage of the plant" but i am not too sure about that.
